At the end of the 2nd World War, both societies ceased; but in 1948 the
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Versicherungsmathematik (DGVM)
(German Society for Actuarial Theory) was
founded as a successor to the Deutscher Aktuarverein.
And in 1993 the Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung (DAV) was founded;
it works closely with the DGVM.]
